Matt Williams Obituary-Death News; White Hall Boy’s Head Basketball Coach Matt Williams Dies In Fatal Accident
The White Hall community is grieving the untimely passing of Matt Williams, the head coach of the White Hall High School boys’ basketball team, who died in a tragic two-vehicle accident in Pine Bluff on the night of Saturday, April 12, 2025.
The accident occurred near the intersection of 46th Avenue and Hazel Street. Details surrounding the cause of the collision have not yet been released by the Pine Bluff Police Department.
Coach Williams had recently completed his first season with the White Hall Bulldogs, leading the team to a 15-14 overall record and an 8-8 mark in the 5A South Conference. Prior to his tenure at White Hall, he served as head coach at Texarkana, where he guided the Razorbacks to their first conference victories since the 2021 season.
His coaching career also included assistant positions at Springdale and Jonesboro, and he began as Director of Basketball Operations for Southeast Missouri State University’s men’s basketball team from 2009 to 2011.
The White Hall School District and the broader community are deeply saddened by Coach Williams’ passing. His dedication to his players and the sport left a lasting impact, and he will be remembered for his commitment to excellence both on and off the court.
