Travis Brommerich Motorcycle Accident; Travis Brommerich And Jennifer Schultz Passes Away in Motorcycle Accident Involving Car In Monroe County
Authorities in Monroe County have released the identities of the two individuals who tragically lost their lives in a motorcycle versus car crash that occurred earlier this month.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office confirmed in an updated press release that 41-year-old Travis Brommerich of Stoddard, Wisconsin, and 39-year-old Jennifer Schultz of La Crosse, Wisconsin, were the victims of the fatal collision. Both individuals sustained severe injuries as a result of the crash and were pronounced dead at the scene.
The accident took place on the evening of April 6, 2025, just after 5:00 p.m., on State Highway 33 near County Highway X in the Town of Portland, Wisconsin.
According to the initial details provided by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, first responders were dispatched to the scene after receiving a report of a serious collision involving a motorcycle and a passenger vehicle.
Preliminary investigations revealed that Brommerich was operating the motorcycle westbound on State Highway 33 at the time of the accident. While navigating a curve in the roadway, he lost control of the motorcycle.
As a result of this loss of control, both Brommerich and his passenger, Jennifer Schultz, were ejected from the motorcycle. The bike then collided with an oncoming eastbound car.
The crash proved instantly fatal for both Brommerich and Schultz, who were found unresponsive at the scene. Despite the immediate efforts of emergency personnel, the injuries sustained by both victims were too severe to survive. Authorities have not released further details about whether helmets were worn or if weather or speed were contributing factors.
Fortunately, the occupants of the eastbound car involved in the crash were not reported to have suffered any injuries. The vehicle’s passengers were assessed at the scene and did not require hospitalization, according to the Sheriff’s Office. Their names have not been released, and it appears they are not facing any charges related to the crash.
The investigation into the cause of the accident remains ongoing, and authorities are continuing to piece together the exact sequence of events. The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office is working with crash reconstruction experts to better understand how the incident unfolded. At this time, no foul play or involvement of drugs or alcohol has been publicly reported.
This tragic accident serves as a somber reminder of the dangers faced by motorcyclists, particularly when navigating curves or potentially hazardous roadway conditions.
With warmer weather returning and more motorcycles on the road, law enforcement officials urge all drivers — both motorcyclists and motorists — to exercise increased caution, maintain safe speeds, and be especially alert while traveling on highways and rural roads.
Travis Brommerich and Jennifer Schultz are being remembered by friends and family as kind, adventurous individuals who shared a love for riding. Their sudden and untimely deaths have sent shockwaves through the communities of Stoddard and La Crosse, where they were both well-known and loved.
Funeral arrangements have not yet been publicly announced. Community members are expected to gather in the coming days to honor their lives and offer support to their grieving families.
Meanwhile, authorities continue to investigate and ask anyone who may have witnessed the crash or who may have additional information to contact the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.
As the community mourns the loss of two lives cut short, this incident underscores the importance of safety and vigilance on the roads, not just for those behind the wheel of a car, but also for the many motorcycle riders who share the same paths.
